I have had this Toshiba AS Satellite laptop since September '09 and have never had any internet connectivity issues until last week.

It came with Vista Home Premium bit and I've used in my apartment and at my parent's house, and it has always automatically detected both networks and connected immediately.

Last week, I started getting "Local access only" when I connected at both my apartment and at my parent's house. Nothing is working. I took it into Best Buy where I bought it and have an active warranty, and the Geek Squad connected to the Best Buy wireless network right in front of me and told it looks like its working and there's nothing they can really do. Please help. Joined Oct 2, Messages 65, I have Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit. If you visit the link below, choose Windows Vista and WiFi from the drop down boxes. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help.

Thanks for your feedback. This thread is locked. However, as soon as my laptop went into sleep mode or was turned off, when it was turned on again the problem persisted and I would have to follow the process of using the command prompt and restarting the computer each time I turned my laptop on.

As you can imagine, this process can be quite tiresome and i would like to find a more permanent solution to my problem, especially since the past few times I have tried this temporary fix, it has been unsuccessful so my laptop is once again without internet access.

If anybody has any suggestions, then it would be greatly appreciated as I am completely stumped. Thanks for any and all help. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question
