Pathways focuses on the development of effective learning strategies by critically evaluating and educating each student about his or her specific needs and abilities. The aim is to help students foster their own sense of independence in college as they prepare for their future careers.
This includes taking on more personal responsibility in their learning, developing better organizational and time management strategies, and self-advocacy skills conducted through various forms of communication. Learning Specialists will review course concepts to enhance the understanding of class lectures, work with students on time management and organizational strategies, teach students writing skills, and foster independence within each student. Every class is conducted using the Discussion Method, beginning with a question designed to help you think deeply about the text at hand. You will dive into some of the best works of the past 2, years, selected from the masters of the Western intellectual tradition — Plato, Pascal, St.
