This allows TBP residents to further develop their assessment skills and manage patients utilizing their knowledge from both pediatrics and psychiatry.

TBP Residents continue to see patients in their pediatric continuity clinic every other week for one half-day and attend psychiatric didactics one half-day per week throughout residency training. Note: Residents continue to see patients in the pediatric continuity clinic throughout the year and begin adult Interpersonal Psychotherapy IPT. Residents continue to take weekend call during inpatient rotations for pediatrics. The outpatient pediatric subspecialty clinics, in particular, allow residents to explore and develop knowledge in areas of personal interest.

In addition, the clinics provide valuable exposure to the psychological impact of chronic disease and help residents to develop the skills necessary for helping patients and their families cope with both the psychiatric and medical aspects of their care. The second half of the year is devoted to outpatient psychiatry clinics. One of the highlights of the third year is working in the Triple Board clinic alongside the senior TBP residents. This clinic provides psychiatric care to pediatric patients with complicated medical histories.

The clinic is supervised by faculty who are interested in the integration of care, and most of whom are Triple Board graduates. Other psychiatry clinics during this portion of training include adult mood disorders, geriatric psychiatry, and early psychosis.

There is also opportunity for outpatient psychiatry electives. Didactics focus on dialectal behavioral therapy, group and family therapy and advanced psychopharmacology. Note: Residents continue to see patients in the pediatric continuity clinic throughout the year and adult psychotherapy training continues with an emphasis on CBT.

In the fourth year, four months are spent on pediatric-rotations, which are comprised of 10 weeks of subspeciality pediatric electives and 2 weeks in the CHP Emergency Department. Michelle is renowned in our program for the delicious baked treats she creates with her family during the holiday season, and which she graciously shares with the program during our annual Med-Peds holiday party.

Her interests during residency included skiing out west, hiking, and going on a medical mission trip to Kenya. During her fourth year of residency she served as the resident coordinator of the Med-Peds Journal Club. She currently lives in Kenya with her family.

During her 4th year of residency she served as chief resident. She completed an infectious disease fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, serving as its chief fellow in During her time in Pittsburgh, she thoroughly embraced the opportunity to work with people of all ages.

She was part of the CORE Community Oriented Resident Education program through the pediatric core residency program and worked actively on community advocacy of children of all backgrounds. During her fellowship, Dr. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on a variety of topics, including thromboembolic disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis. During his fourth year, he served as the resident coordinator of the Med-Peds Journal Club.

Andy was awarded the highest teaching award of the pediatric residency program, the A. Gaffney Diagnostic Referral Service award for his patient care in pediatrics.

He is actively involved in improving the transitional care process in pediatrics and is director of the Healthy Transitions Program for the Down Syndrome Center. He is also the medical director of the Vascular Anomalies Center of Pittsburgh. During his third year of residency, he won the Ann E. Thompson Award for his work in the prenatal intensive care unit.

He is currently an Assistant Professor at CHOP with a research focus on point-of-care ultrasound education and program implementation. With his wife Laure, he has three lovely children who become every-so-slightly less lovely as bedtime approaches. During her third year of residency, she was extremely involved in coordinating the Med-Peds Noon Conference Series. During her fourth year, she won the Mark A. Sperling Resident Scholarly Project Award for research on modeling the cost-effectiveness of imaging modalities for intracranial hemorrhage in patients with hemophilia.

He is interested in medical education and was able to take the medical education elective offered through the internal medicine residency program. He is the director the Med-Peds Residency curriculum committee and runs their mentoring program.

She served as our med-peds chief resident in — She spent the following year working as the junior program director of medical education at Teine Keijinkai Hospital in Sapporo, Japan where she helped sustain an American style curriculum for medical residents and students. He is interested in transitional care of patients with congenital heart disease and was instrumental in helping design the transitional care elective offered through our residency program. Amy is living in Andover, MA with her family. During his residency training, he actively pursued his interests in transitional care for children and adults with special needs and in environmental medicine. Currently, he works as a med-peds clinician at the Squirrel Hill Health Center, which is a federally qualified health center.

Jonathan serves as medical advisor at the Jewish Healthcare Foundation, where he is involved with an initiative called Closure: Changing Expectations at End-of-Life. During his residency, he demonstrated interest in hospital medicine and gastrointestinal diseases.
